Idk much about them, but it was smart of Normandy to capitalize on that oasis of OTFs priced in the 100's. The other option to consider would be CobraTec. If I were in your shoes looking for a good low $100s OTF, I'd roll the dice on the new Kalashnikov OTF. It's a Boker Kalashnikov, but it's actually manufactured by CobraTec.. Jun 25, 2021 · What once was a tech essential now inspires a different part of EDC with Boker Plus's new USB OTF knife. Conclusion: This exclusive out-the-front knife features a black handle, all-black hardware and a dagger style blade in a black finish. The Smith & Wesson OTF knives are both spring-assisted and single-action which means they deploy with the push of the slide switch but manually retracted. The finish on the blade seems to be some sort of dye, scratches very easily, and I managed to rub some onto my index finger off the spine of the blade. The blade play on this knife is horrific. Holding it firmly against a flat surface, the blade tip wiggles a sixteenth of an inch from side to side and over an eight of an inch up and down.

The Hogue OTF isn’t the most creative of names, but it’s descriptive enough. The Hogue OTF sports a 3.5-inch blade. The knife also has an overall length of 8.5 inches, a closed length of 5 inches, and weighs only 5.3 ounces. It’s a perfect size and weight for an EDC knife.

IMO the Piranha Excalibur will go down in history as the highest quality production OTF of our day. But, to keep to your question, the Italian (Spadon) OTF knives have a life to them, that is to say, that in treating them as an EDC, just like if you're to use a stiletto as an EDC, you've got to understand that your knife will die one day.
